Situated in a very peaceful part of the Broads which is rich in wildlife, Martham Ferry Boatyard is based on the River Thurne overlooking the National Trust land of Heigham Holmes, a unique remote island in the Broads National Park.
Martham Ferry Boatyard has a small fleet of quiet electric day and picnic boats for hire. Boats available for 1-12 people, dogs welcome.
The boats are immaculate and comfortable with scatter cushions for extra comfort, easy to drive and full instruction given.

(Picnic boats are equipped with toilet, gas hob, sink, running water, kettle, mugs, plates, cutlery.)
From Martham Boatyard there are lots of places to explore, here’s just a few suggestions: We are one hour’s motor from the stunning water-side pub the Pleasure Boat Inn at Hickling Broad and NT Horsey Mere and the recently restored iconic wind pump from where you can climb to the top and appreciate stunning views over the Broads. There is also a National Trust tea shop there.
It is a 20-minute motor to well-known Broads location Potter Heigham with its medieval bridge, widely known giant bargain store Lathams and attractively decorated café Bridge Stones of Potter and other eateries.
It takes one and a half hours to get to Ludham, The Lion at Thurne, Ranworth and many other beautiful places.
