Events in September in the Broads
As if this was not enough to do! There are also lots of events taking place across the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads in September 2026.
Visit the Museum of the Broads at Stalham and take a step back in time aboard a Wherry and discover what life was like for a Wherryman and his family.All Aboard a Wherry! Is held between 10am and 4pm on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd September.
The Tour de Broads in the Broads National Park, Sunday, 6th September, has become the region’s biggest celebration of cycling with up to 1500 riders taking part. There is the option to choose from 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles, as well as a 5-mile family route.
Cycle or cheer on from the sidelines, this event raises money for Nelson’s Journey, a local charity who support children & young adults experiencing bereavement in Norfolk.
Norfolk Heritage Open Days take place between Friday 11th and Sunday 20th September. Heritage Open Days events are free for everyone. As well as pre-booked events, there are almost 200 drop-in events to enjoy too. Download the 2026 Norfolk Listings Brochure and discover even more of the Broads.
On Wednesday, 30th September, join an expert from the Norfolk & Norwich Bat Group for a Ranworth Bat Walk. In partnership with the Broads Authority and Natural England this event takes place at dusk. Booking is essential.
The Museum of the Broads are holding a Model Boat Day on Sunday, 27th September. Discover the history of boating on the Broads and meet model boat owners.
