Beccles Carnival Weekend 2026 takes place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August, bringing two days of family entertainment, live music, food, fun and the much-loved Carnival Parade to Beccles in Suffolk.
Held on the third weekend of August each year, Beccles Carnival is a long-standing local tradition with a history stretching back to the 1800s. The event brings together the local community and visitors for a colourful and entertaining weekend.
Beccles Quay is where all the action for the Carnival Weekend can be enjoyed. Details of entrance charges can be found by visiting the Beccles Carnival website.
Saturday, 15th August
From 12.30, enjoy the Arena shows, food stalls and Quayside family fun. The entertainment continues into the evening with Beccles Quay Rocks bringing live music to the Quay. Local talent, Adam Thomas, better known as Ad Sheeran, will perform a selection of favourite hits from Ed Sheeran.
Also taking to the stage are Quenesis – The Band of Confusion, bringing a full set of Queen classics to Beccles Quay. The evening entertainment is scheduled to finish at 11.00pm.
Sunday 16th August
In addition to the spectacle of the carnival parade on Sunday there will be the additional excitement of a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Isabella’s Dance and Musical Theatre Company and Galaxy Twirlers will take to the Main Arena after the Carnival Parade. Beccles Carnival Weekend 2026 will wrap up at 6.00pm.

Things to do in Beccles in August?
In addition to the Carnival, there are many other activities to enjoy in and around Beccles in August.
Indulge in a chocolate experience at Harris and James and craft your own chocolate bars! Alternatively, just pop in to their Twyfords store which offers a full breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu.
Book a swim at Beccles Lido. The Lido is located on the banks of the River Waveney, in the heart of Beccles. It is open all year round and offers the opportunity of both lane swimming and family fun swimming with a toddler and splash pool, as well as a sauna.
Take advantage of the warm weather and book a table to dine on the huge outdoor deck of the Waveney Inn, offering the perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy a fabulous view over Carlton Marshes nature reserve.
Located just down the road is Flint Vineyard. Book a tour of the vineyard, or simply visit the shop, enjoy a glass of wine in the garden, or stop for a chat with one of their knowledgeable staff.
Catch the Big Dog Ferry from Beccles Lido to the secluded Locks Inn at Geldeston. This fully electric passenger ferry offers a relaxing 3 mile boat journey along the River Waveney. A one way ticket is available, providing the opportunity to walk along the footpaths either to, or from the Locks.
Climb to the top of Beccles Bell Tower to enjoy spectacular Waveney Valley views as well as out towards Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Tours are offered on Saturdays and a special opening is also planned for Sunday, 16th August.
