Upton Yacht station is a hidden gem of a boatyard, positioned on the River Bure, 10 miles east of Norwich. Eastwood Whelpton Sailing Holidays are based here and have 17 yachts for hire for those seeking the thrill of a real sailing holiday here on the Norfolk Broads. All the boats are lovingly maintained and well equipped with berths for 4-7 people. Traditional Norfolk gaff rigged cabin yachts and more modern bermudan rigged yachts are available as well as our half decker day boat ‘Ragged Robin’ which was originally launched in 1923. Many customers and families return year after year for their own ‘Coot Club’ adventure. Sailing here provides a fabulous chance to escape into the great outdoors and enjoy the fun of living afloat and the peace and beauty of Broadland.
Develop your sailing skills, take an RYA course or even learn to sail from scratch in a safe inshore sailing environment with instructors from our RYA training centre based at the yard ‘The Norfolk Broads School of Sailing.’ Skippered sails are also available. Full induction, handover and safety briefing are provided on your arrival.
Since 1959, we have kept the same outstanding quality on all of our yachts and aim to offer excellent customer service, providing the best holiday experience for our guests to enjoy. Yachts can be hired for a week (or more), weekends or short breaks. Day hire of our half decker yacht is also available.
Seasonal opening: 1 April to 31 October. Parking available; tuition available; skippered sailing available; pets and children welcome. All of the fleet have: Bedding provided; heating provided; cooking facilities; toilet on board. Some of the fleet have a shower onboard.
