Explore Salhouse Broad on foot and discover boardwalks, fen, woodland, reedbed and of course the Broad. Follow the footpath from the car park, here you will find the start of the Sibling Support Mindfulness walk, press the button on the post and listen to Stephen Fry welcome you. Other mindfulness activities are dotted around the site.
Next you will come to the Wherry Cut boardwalk, (currently open one end only until work continues) here you can read celebratory plaques and take in views of the old cut where wherries would travel up to offload their cargo. If you’re lucky you may see a kingfisher here, or one of the great crested grebes that nest here.
Follow the path alongside the moorings and enjoy views across the broad, catching sight of boats passing on the river. The path takes you through the woods, coming out at a play area for children and The Hungry otter to refuel with tea, coffee and cake.
Along from here, you can relax at the dark skies discovery hub, even during the day you can watch the clouds pass by and read about what this part of the Broads has to offer.
